Provincials
March 18; The first day of the Manitoba Provincial Championship weekend is over, and not only was the goal to win both games in the round robin but we also needed an impressive goals for and against record to advance to the finals on Sunday as the #1 seed which rewards you with Saturday off & a later morning game. This weekend everyone brings their "A" game & the Norman Wild played us very well for awhile, but eventually we got the Hawks machine rolling and put the puck into the net and finished up with a 15-1 win. Haley Ostberg exploded with 5 goals, as we had all three lines contributing as well as the D. For the 2nd game goals against was the key, and we skated away with a 4-0 win, as Brittni Mowat recorded the shutout and made 27 saves on the day for her two wins. Chelsea Van Deynze was the offensive spark plug this game, with 2 goals & an assist. Mission accomplished as a rest day was earned, and now we will face the Westman Wildcats on Sunday morning at 10:30.
