Wakefield, Mass. - The Providence College women's hockey team Cassidy Carels (Bruxelles, Manitoba) was recognized with weekly league honors for her efforts on the weekend.
Carels collected three goals for her first collegiate hat trick in the Friars win on Nov. 23. It marked the first time a rookie notched a hat trick since Nicole Anderson `13 did so on Oct. 16, 2009. Carels finished the weekend with a plus-three plus-minus rating and registered 10 shots on goal. Carels leads her class in scoring with 11 points on two assists and a team-best nine goals. With her third multi-goal game, Carels has now earned Rookie of the Week honors twice (10/7, 11/25).
