Game 4 vs Harfang du Triolet (Team Quebec)

In game four the Hawks were looking to continue their strong team play, which resulted in a decisive 4-1 victory against the talented Ontario squad. The Hawks wouldn't start out very strong, with a period that looked similar to the game against the St Albert Slash. The Quebec team scored only a few minutes in with a shot that just eluded Halle, sneaking just inside the post. Pembina Valley couldn't muster much for offense in the first and the shots on goal were fairly uneven. In the second the Hawks seemed to come alive, but the passes weren't quite there, and many shots on the Quebec net were blocked or deflected as they clogged up the middle zone. The Hawks had some very good chances though, but weren't able to bury any of them. Going into the third, the girls gave it everything they had as they pressed whenever possible and played strong team defense. In the end, however, the Quebec team was able to kill off the remaining time on the clock and pull off the tight 1-0 victory. Tomorrow's crucial game against Team Atlantic will cement the Hawks place in the standings, as they play the final game of the preliminary round at 7:00.
