

The Hawks are pleased to announce that 3rd year veteran Hannah Petrie, has committed to attend Red Deer College. Hannah, who is an honour student, will be studying Education as well as suit up for the Red Deer Queen’s women’s hockey team starting the 2018/19 season. Red Deer College is located in Red Deer Alberta and the Queens play in the ACAC (Alberta College Athletic Conference).
The 17-year-old forward, from Carman, Manitoba, is currently the third-leading scorer with the Pembina Valley Hawks, of the Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League. She’s scored 13 goals and recorded 22 assists for 35 pts in 37 games thus far this season. Last season, Petrie was instrumental in the playoffs, netting 2 game winning goals in the Hawks’ MFMHL playoff run, including the double-OT winner that won them the championship.
Hannah was named an Assistant Captain for the Hawks this season. Her hockey resume includes a trip to last year’s Esso Cup national women’s midget championship, where her Hawks lost in the bronze medal game, and a Manitoba women’s midget championship.
