Powell Commits to University of Regina

The Pembina Valley Hawks is pleased to announce that defence Kaila Powell has committed to attend school and play hockey for the University of Regina commencing the fall of 2019.  The University of Regina is located in Regina, Saskatchewan and the Cougars play in the very competitive USport Canada West Hockey Conference.

Powell who hails from Swan River has been named Hawks Captain for the 2018-2019 season and during her midget career has played 141 games notching 16 goals and adding 42 assists.  Known as a solid defender Powell has been a part of a MFMHL Championship in 2017 and 2018 runner up team with the Hawks.  Powell is currently competing for a position on Team Manitoba having made it to Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence Final 27.  Kaila also competes with NAHC Team Manitoba at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championship in 2017 and 2018 where the team won gold both years.  

The Hawks congratulates Kaila on her outstanding accomplishments during her midget career to date and wish her all the best with her future academic and hockey endeavours while at the University of Regina.
